Improvisation Ideas for fingerstyle/Classical players

Here is a basic C minor chord Chord 1

Try:

  • Holding down the barre and improving over it with the scale.
  • Breaking up the C min chord into 2 & 3 note groups and playing the scale tones around them.
  • Using pentatonic versions of these scales
  • Melding the C min chord shape into new chords - just listen and noodle around - analyse what your ears tell you later.
  • The same idea with C & G melodic minor scales.
Here it is again as part part of an Eb major Scale Chord 2
And again hidden inside a Bb Major Scale Chord 3
As part of an Ab Major Scale Chord 4
And again, this time as part of a C Harmonic Minor Scale Chord 5
